I need a Windows DLL that Flexscan 3D can load at runtime so the software can drive a Revopoint Dual Turntable. You may start from, or simply reference, the open-source controller code here: [login to view URL] Core behaviours • Start and stop rotation on command • Adjust rotation speed dynamically • Keep the table’s position in-sync with each scan trigger coming from Flexscan 3D • (Nice-to-have) expose a tilt-angle routine so I can script multi-axis captures later Interface expectations Flexscan 3D talks to plug-ins through a plain C-style DLL entry point. I can share sample calls that the software issues; however, there is no official SDK, so you will be doing a bit of reverse-engineering or wrapper work. As long as the exported functions you create respond with the right return codes, Flexscan will recognise them. Turntable comms The Revopoint board is driven over USB-serial via bluetooth. Their GitHub project already contains packet formats for speed, direction and stop commands, so you can borrow that logic or rewrite it in cleaner C/C++/C#. The DLL must open, configure and close the COM port cleanly so Flexscan never locks up. Deliverables 1. Compiled 64-bit DLL ready to drop into Flexscan’s “plugins” folder 2. Full source code with build instructions (Visual Studio solution preferred) 3. A short README explaining the exported functions and any parameters Flexscan should pass 4. A test console or script that demonstrates all four features outside Flexscan Acceptance I will consider the job complete when the DLL lets me: • launch Flexscan, press “scan”, and see the table rotate in step with frame capture; • modify rotation speed from within Flexscan without reconnecting; • stop the table instantly when scanning ends; • invoke the tilt-angle command from the demo script and confirm movement. If you are comfortable with serial protocols, C/C++, and plugin development, this should be a focused task. Let me know any questions and the approximate timeline you need.

Hello! I can develop the 64-bit Windows DLL for Flexscan 3D and integrate it with the Revopoint Dual Turntable. I’m comfortable with C/C++, Windows DLL/plugin development, serial communication, and reverse-engineering undocumented interfaces. I can use the existing open-source Revopoint controller as a reference for the USB/serial protocol, while implementing a clean and reliable DLL layer for Flexscan. The solution will handle COM-port lifecycle, start/stop commands, dynamic speed changes, and synchronization with scan triggers. I can also implement the tilt-angle functionality as an additional command. Deliverables will include the compiled DLL, complete Visual Studio source/project, build instructions, README documenting exported C-style functions and parameters, and a standalone test console demonstrating the supported operations. I’ll first review the Flexscan sample calls and the existing controller implementation to confirm the required interface and protocol details, then build and test the integration incrementally. The goal is a robust plugin that does not lock Flexscan and responds with the expected return codes.

I understand you need a Windows DLL that integrates with Flexscan 3D to control the Revopoint Dual turntable at runtime. This is a hardware interfacing and DLL development project requiring low-level Windows programming, device communication protocols, and integration with existing 3D scanning software. While my primary expertise lies in Python development and trading platform architecture, I have solid experience building system-level integrations and working with hardware communication protocols. I've developed runtime components that interface with external systems, handle real-time data streams, and provide stable, thread-safe APIs for third-party applications. For this specific project, I would approach it by: **Understanding the Requirements:** - Reverse-engineering or documenting the Flexscan 3D plugin architecture and expected DLL interface - Analyzing the Revopoint Dual's communication protocol (likely USB/serial) and command set - Ensuring the DLL exposes the correct entry points for turntable control (rotation speed, positioning, step control) **Development Approach:** - Building the DLL in C/C++ for native Windows compatibility and optimal performance - Implementing robust error handling and device state management - Creating a clean API that maps Flexscan 3D commands to Revopoint Dual hardware actions - Testing with the actual hardware to ensure smooth rotation, accurate positioning, and synchronization with the scanning process **Deliverables:** - Compiled Windows DLL ready for runtime loading by Flexscan 3D - Documentation covering installation, configuration, and supported commands - Source code with clear comments for future maintenance I recognize this project requires C/C++ Windows DLL development and hardware interfacing expertise. If you're looking for a developer with deep embedded systems and Windows driver/DLL experience specifically for 3D scanning hardware, I want to be transparent that my strongest work has been in high-level application development and system architecture. However, I'm confident I can deliver this solution by leveraging my systems integration experience, strong fundamentals in low-level programming, and ability to quickly master new technical domains. I've successfully bridged software and hardware in past projects requiring real-time communication and precise control. Let's talk and get started. Thank you.

For this Flexscan 3D integration, I will build a native 64-bit C++ DLL with plain C-style exported entry points that Flexscan can load at runtime and use to control the Revopoint Dual Turntable. I’ll review the open-source Revopoint Dual Turntable packet logic, then implement a clean serial communication layer for Bluetooth USB-COM detection, port configuration, speed and direction commands, stop handling, and reliable shutdown so the DLL cannot leave Flexscan locked. I’ll map the sample Flexscan calls into a small state machine that keeps rotation position synchronized with each scan trigger, supports speed changes without reconnecting, and returns the expected success/error codes. I’ll also expose the tilt-angle routine where supported by the connected hardware, with clear parameter handling and safe limits. The deliverables will include a Visual Studio solution, compiled x64 DLL, README documenting every export and parameter, plus a console test tool covering start, stop, dynamic speed, scan-step synchronization, and tilt movement. I can begin immediately and provide an initial DLL for hardware testing early in the implementation. Do you already have Flexscan’s sample calls or expected exported function names available to share? Muhammad Saad

I can help you. I’ll treat this as a wrapper/integration task: take the known Revopoint turntable packet logic, wrap it in a clean 64-bit C-style DLL with the exact entry points Flexscan expects, and make the COM port handling robust enough that Flexscan never locks up. My approach: - Strip down the open-source controller code to the core commands: start, stop, speed, sync, and tilt. - Build a thin C interface that maps Flexscan’s calls to those commands and returns the correct response codes. - Handle serial open/close/error states explicitly, with timeouts and clean reconnects. - Deliver the DLL plus a small console test harness that exercises all four features outside Flexscan, so you can verify everything before integrating. I’ll keep the exported functions minimal, documented, and aligned with how Flexscan actually calls plugins. The result will be a drop-in DLL you can test immediately.

Hi, Looks like the main task is wrapping the Revopoint turntable’s USB-serial protocol into a clean, 64-bit DLL that Flexscan 3D can load as a plugin. The trickiest part will be keeping the table’s rotation in lockstep with Flexscan’s scan triggers while allowing speed changes on the fly and still opening/closing the COM port cleanly each time the plugin loads. I’ve written a few Windows DLL plugins for lab instruments that had to stay synchronized with external triggers, so the pattern of queuing commands, checking return codes, and handling serial timeouts should translate directly here. The open-source Revopoint controller already gives us the packet formats, so we can either port that logic to C/C++ or wrap it as-is. The unknowns I see are Flexscan’s exact calling pattern (you’ll share samples after award) and how Revopoint’s Bluetooth-serial behaves under real-time load. I’d lean toward a simple state machine in the DLL that queues speed and stop commands, processes scan triggers, and resets the port on every plugin load to avoid stale connections. I can start working right away. Let's connect and discuss the details. Thanks, Denis.

Create a 64-bit Windows C-style DLL that Flexscan 3D can load at runtime to control the Revopoint Dual Turntable. Work scope - Implement exported plugin entry points matching Flexscan’s expected C calling/return-code pattern. - Build a robust USB-serial (COM) layer: open/configure/close cleanly to avoid Flexscan lockups. - Core control loop: start/stop rotation, dynamic speed changes, and continuous position synchronization tied to each scan trigger. - Use the Revopoint packet formats from the referenced open-source controller (borrow or refactor into clearer C/C++), ensuring correct direction/speed/stop commands. - Nice-to-have: add a tilt-angle routine callable from the test console/script for multi-axis capture planning. Deliverables 1) Compiled 64-bit DLL ready for the Flexscan “plugins” folder 2) Full source (Visual Studio solution preferred) + build instructions 3) README documenting exported functions, parameters, and return codes 4) Test console/script demonstrating start/stop, speed changes, trigger sync, and tilt-angle command Acceptance focus Ensure “scan” drives synchronized rotation, speed updates without reconnecting, instant stop at scan end, and correct movement via the demo script.

The first task is to reproduce Flexscan’s exact plug-in ABI before implementing the turntable controls. Export names, parameter types, calling convention, return codes, and callback timing must match precisely; otherwise the DLL may load incorrectly or destabilize Flexscan. I would build a native 64-bit C++ DLL with a plain C-compatible export layer and isolate serial communication on a dedicated worker thread. A synchronized command queue would handle rotation, live speed changes, scan-triggered positioning, immediate stop, and tilt without blocking the Flexscan interface. The COM layer would include connection setup, timeouts, packet validation, reconnect handling, acknowledgements, and clean shutdown so the port is never left locked. Position would be maintained from confirmed movement commands, with configurable rotation steps and settling time between movement and frame capture. You will receive the compiled DLL, Visual Studio source, documented exports, build instructions, and a console harness covering every command outside Flexscan. Can you provide either a sample working plug-in DLL or the exact exported functions Flexscan calls? Regards, Houssame

I’ve built C/C++ plugins for serial-controlled devices that integrate with commercial 3D scanning software before, so this is straightforward. I’ll implement a 64-bit DLL with a plain C interface matching Flexscan’s expectations, using the Revopoint GitHub code as the base for serial command framing and timing. The DLL will open/close the COM port once on load/unload, expose functions for start/stop, speed control, and sync with scan triggers via shared state, and add a tilt routine in a separate exported function. Build will target Visual Studio, with a console test harness to validate all behaviors outside Flexscan. Thanks, Andrii.

Hi — Bravion here from Cleveland. The serial protocol is the easy half — the GitHub project already carries the packet formats. Three other things decide whether this works. First, those sample calls. Flexscan defines the exact export names, calling convention and parameter layout; a DLL cannot invent exports and expect the host to find them. Everything hinges on that artifact, so it is the first thing I would want, before any code is written. Second, "USB-serial via bluetooth" needs pinning down. If the board pairs as Bluetooth SPP it presents a COM port and CreateFile works as you describe. If it is BLE GATT there is no COM port at all, and it becomes WinRT BLE instead — entirely different code. Third, no serial I/O or thread joins inside DllMain. Loader lock will hang Flexscan on load or exit. Explicit Init and Shutdown exports instead, with a worker thread so scan triggers never block on the port. Timeline and budget: 1 week, 5700, including the test console and README. Send the sample calls and I will confirm the entry points before we start. — Bravion
