This is fully doable remotely as long as you can screen-share or grant remote access to a device on your home network, since a router's admin panel is normally only reachable from inside the LAN, not from outside like a server would be. Setup: separate SSID/password for 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands (or a unified SSID with band-steering if your router supports it, whichever suits your devices better), guest network isolated on its own VLAN so guest traffic can't reach your main devices or admin panel, WPA3 where the router supports it and WPA2/AES otherwise. VPN setup depends on what you actually want: the router acting as a VPN server so you can reach home devices remotely, or all outbound traffic routed through a VPN provider, those are different configs, worth confirming which before I start. I'll walk through it live over a screen-share so you see exactly what's changed and why, plus leave you a short written note of the settings applied in case you need to adjust anything later without me.
