AI Powered Recruiting Platform - Backend Development (Supabase + LLM Integration)

I'm seeking an experienced backend developer to optimize and integrate core functionality for an AI-powered recruiting platform built on Loveable and Supabase. The platform serves students and early-career professionals, centralizing job discovery, application tracking, AI career coaching, and smart scheduling. The UI is complete - now we need technical expertise to bring the backend architecture to life. Core Responsibilities: - AI Chat Optimization: Enhance response speed and implement recruiting-industry specific customization using LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) - Authentication & Database: Build secure user authentication, design efficient database schemas, and implement data relationships in Supabase - API Integrations: Connect job board APIs, professional networking data sources (Apollo/LinkedIn), and calendar services (Google Calendar, Outlook) - System Integration: Link all platform features into a cohesive system with real-time updates and cross-feature data flow - Performance Optimization: Implement caching strategies, optimize queries, and ensure sub-1-second response times Technical Requirements: - Strong proficiency with Supabase (PostgreSQL, Auth, Edge Functions, Realtime subscriptions) - Proven experience integrating third-party APIs with proper error handling and rate limiting - Hands-on experience implementing LLM/AI chat functionality in production environments - Expertise in database design, query optimization, and security best practices - Comfortable working in early-stage startup environments with evolving requirements Ideal Candidate Has: - Experience with recruiting tech, HR platforms, or job board integrations (preferred) - Knowledge of prompt engineering and context management for AI systems - Track record of building scalable, maintainable backend systems - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently - Clear communication skills for technical discussions with CTO This is a direct collaboration with our CTO with flexibility on engagement structure (contract/part-time/full-time).
