First off, please do not bid until you’ve read this project and understand it. Bids that are cut and paste with no indication of understanding, time frame and price will not be considered.
I'm looking to have my website [url removed, login to view] redesigned with a new, fresh, updated look. Before that work is done, I want the old site moved to a new domain, but you will need to copy it with no access to the old files and I want it converted to all static HTML pages instead of .php, except one page (Contact Us) is a form and will need to be setup so it is dynamic the way it is now but not using a database. I want the old and new sites to be HTML and database (SQL, etc) free. I'd like to be able to edit them with MS SharePoint Designer as well.
You may have bid on my original project yesterday for just doing the old site move, but I've canceled it and want one person to do both the move and a redesign of the new site.
The current site (.com) will be moved to [url removed, login to view] and then [url removed, login to view] will be redesigned.
For security reasons, I want both sites built off my server and I will upload them both once finished. Since there will be no databases, this should not be a problem.
One thing to be aware of. The .com site has SSL already and will need it still, but the .net site does not have SSL and will not need it because I will only use PayPal on the .net site and will not require SSL per my merchant accounts rules because it will not contain my merchant account links.
I'm not a designer, so I'm looking for someone to provide me with a few basic sample looks for the new site that we can build from. I don't want to be told to go find a site I like, I want you to give me ideas to start from. You are the artistic one, give me a starting point, not the other way around.
I need to maintain the same header design for the new site due to them already being used with physical product that still needs to still match. It can be altered, but will need to remain similar enough. I can provide original files for the artwork on the site in their original sizes. All content will be the same, it works the way it is, so this will be strictly a design change only. Functionality will need to remain the same as well, meaning I want the flow of how the user clicks through the pages not change.
The current .com site has become cluttered with an old cart, many unused files and possibly some malware, so I want only the files needed to be included with the site when I upload it to the .net server. Again, I will do all uploading, you will not be given FTP or Cpanel access. I want security to be tight and all files will be inspected before payment will be released.
I need to know the timeframe of how soon the site move (copy) files will be ready for upload, and how long until the new site design files will be ready to upload. If you break down the price, I can release funds for the first (copy) part of the project when it is finished, and then the remainder when the second (redesign) is done. Make sure to put how much Milestone will be needed. If promised deadlines are met, I will give a bonus, and I would like the first part of the project (site copy) done quickly so consider that in your bid.
Recap on what to include in your bid:
• Make sure you fully understand project and include knowledge and explanation of what you plan to do.
• Breakdown your bid for both parts of the project. (site copy) (redesign)
• Give deadlines for both parts for when files will be ready to upload.
• Sample ideas of the new design will be a huge plus in my decision on who to pick. Give me something to look at so I can get an idea of what my site will be like.
• Sell yourself on why I should pick you. Generic copy and paste of a resume is not going to help, tell me what you plan to do for me and my websites.
• Don't try to talk me into changing to an ecommerce site with a cart etc. I've done that already. I want it simple and not a pain for the customer to check out.
One last thing. I release the funds when the job is finished and I am happy with it. This usually includes me having to look at the project, give input, make changes and then finally come up with the end result after going back and forth several times. Then I will give my approval, less maybe a minor change or two. If you are the type of provider that gives me something to look at and at the same time says “let me know if you like it and then release funds” over and over again until it's right, then don't bid. I do not want to be pestered for payment the whole time and don't need to be reminded. As my feedback shows, when the job is done, I pay, and usually with a bonus. If you want to kill that bonus, the quickest way is to keep telling me to pay every time a change is done and YOU think the project is finished.
Any bids that are placed and it's obvious that none of this has been read, will be discarded.
You will see in my feedback that I'm fair and I pay promptly, that I m easy to work with etc. Please don't let any of my comments above intimidate you, I am simply trying to weed out the useless bids from providers that don't even read the project or submit anything but the same old cut and paste message. What you plan to do for me will sell your services, so concentrate on making a good presentation. A mock-up of my site is what I like to see. Not samples of what you've done, but what my site will look like.
Thanks for looking at my project, and good luck with your bid.
