OK I am not good on the tech side of things so forgive me.
I have a Disney website idea that I want to build and then develop further.
I want people to be able to login and post their unwanted Disney collectable free of charge on my site until it either sells or they remove it.
I will need a template building so each item that is added falls into the same size windows + have 3 optimized pictures, text about item and a price.
I need the general public to be able to search the entire site so example if they type in Cinderella it will show all the Cinderella related items.
If the item sells, I want to get commission from the sale, so perhaps a buy it now button, this in turn informs the seller their item has sold and once they pay my commission the buyers details are released. May need your input on this to make it foolproof as I don’t want to be holding any credit card details etc, will just use paypal or similar for my payment. Also can this be process of releasing buyers details be all ve automated upon cleared payment through paypal I wonder?
It’s very important that I get advertising on the site I guess in the form of pay per click or via side deals/product placements so need place for all that to sit and work as well on front page and perhaps in the subsequent pages again may need advice as I am a total novice here.
They will also need to login and create an account so I don’t get spammers trying to sell Viagra pills and all that rubbish so will need database to incorporate that as well as list all items. Need to be able to be bale to extract all e-mails so I can do marketing campaigns i.e. upgrade and have up to 10 pictures or similar for a set price, not sure on this as may or may not be of interest to them.
I want to have a 1950’s USA retro theme going on and have attached my logo that has just been designed by a really talented freelancer member. This may help with idea of look etc.
Ideally I am looking for a frontpage that looks good is up to date with features, like the idea of cool menu system but is simplistic to navigate; I hate websites where I have to click 5 times just to get anywhere!
As the site grows would like to expand to other collectables so may need to factor that in from day one of the build or it might be the Disney side of things is enough as well know.
OK down to the $$$. I work a 65 hour week, commute 125 miles per day, have 2 kids and one income. This is my one shot at trying to make extra $ from the web. I don’t have a huge budget but also don’t expect you to do it for free, I may consider taking on partner in exchange for a percentage of profits if they could bring everything I needed to the table, offer long term commitment to help develop this and play fair. Failing that let me have your best price to get this off the ground. I would always retain 100% ownership rights to the web domain it’s what we could make from it I would share. This may be a rubbish idea so ignore if you think so.
My website domain is [url removed, login to view]
I have owned from day 1 back in 1999 and bought it because Peter Pan lives in Neverland so it seemed a good Disney website url.
Hope to hear from you soon, hopefully what I am thinking will work but forgive me if my imagination does not comply with reality. Must be fluent in spoken/written English so I can express ideas etc.
If I have missed anything please PM in the first instance as I happy to try and expand on my idea. I am also on Skype if you want to chat further. If you have design ideas would love to see them in advance so I can get the right person/team on the job.
Thanks for your time in reading this.
