Let me begin by saying I am a novice in website design, and this is my first experience with "getafreelance." I'm not 100% that will commit to a project, but figured this was worth a shot to see what type of bids I get, and if the price is right, I am certainly interested in committing to something.
I am looking to construct the framework for a guild website tied to the World of Warcraft MMORPG. I have not really though of how I want the page to look, so there is a lot of creative flexibility. The functions I would like to include on the page, if possible, are as follows (not all necessary, as I'm not sure what is feasible from a web design perspective):
-basic graphic design is needed - i have the guild name, but not much else, so I'd need some fancy banner style headings to make the page attractive
-ability to post and remove pictures (essentially, a scrapbook link)
-ability to update a roster easily, ideally sortable by a few categories (class, level, race, profession, etc.)
-ability to post a guild message of the day/week - this can be in blog format even, or maybe something cleaner
-a guild calendar would be fantastic, in which I'd have the ability to post upcoming guild runs & events
-a guild bank page describing guild inventory
-any other traditional guild page recommendations would be appreciated
Fancier features that would be fantastic, but I suspect are trickier:
-ability to post an event and have people sign up for it through the site. A simple format would simply be have them email me to sign up, but if anybody has experience with a nice creative way to do this in an interactive website (of course paying attention to level requirements, and maybe capping the number of a certain class) that would be a major point winner if making a selection for me.
At the end of the day, I'm looking for someone who has some creative ideas for facilitating running a guild and organizing events, can make an attractive page that will get members to visit, and above all, a page that a very computer literate and tech oriented person with very limited web design experience will be able to maintain easily.
My domain should become available in the next week or so - no major rush on this, but I'd like to see the general cost and responses. I will likely respond in 1 - 2 weeks if I decide to move forward. Money is a driving factor, as I do have trouble sinking a lot in a website for a game - that said, I understand this stuff costs money. I'd like to stay under $200 - post whatever the bid is though, as I'm not sure what this type of work normally goes for.
