# Digital Operations, Website & Content Manager – OEM Machinery ## About the Role SYM Machinery is seeking an experienced, hands-on person to manage and improve our website, videos, images, SEO, digital workflows, workshop job cards, apps and OEM machine portal. This is not a position for someone who waits for every task to be explained step by step. The successful applicant must: * Understand the required outcome. * Inspect our existing systems and identify improvements. * Research suitable solutions. * Prepare their own clear brief and work plan. * Complete the agreed work personally. * Test everything before submitting it. * Manage their own time and deadlines. * Provide clear progress updates. * Deliver finished, documented and user-friendly work. No work may be outsourced without written approval. ## 1. Website Management Take responsibility for improving and maintaining the SYM Machinery and SYM Forklifts websites. Responsibilities include: * Audit the website on desktop, tablet and mobile. * Improve navigation and customer experience. * Improve the “Build/Configure Your Machine” process. * Organise forklifts, machinery, attachments, parts and support into clear categories. * Create consistent product-page templates. * Keep specifications, pricing, options and availability accurate. * Add professional images, videos, brochures and manuals. * Create machine and attachment comparison pages. * Improve finance, quotation, call, SMS and enquiry actions. * Test every form, button, link and automation. * Improve page speed, mobile presentation and website security. * Maintain backups, source files and administrator access. Each machine page should include specifications, engine or battery details, capacity, mast, dimensions, standard equipment, optional equipment, attachments, warranty, finance, delivery, images, videos, downloads and a clear enquiry or configuration button. ## 2. YouTube and Social Media Videos The applicant must manage the complete content process, not only edit supplied footage. Responsibilities include: * Create a monthly content plan. * Prepare a brief, script, shot list and editing plan for every video. * Identify missing footage and provide filming instructions. * Produce professional YouTube videos. * Produce vertical videos for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. * Create thumbnails, titles, descriptions, captions and calls to action. * Add subtitles and on-screen feature information. * Use clean audio and consistent SYM branding. * Show the relevant machine feature while it is being discussed. * Upload, schedule and organise content. * Review views, audience retention, enquiries and conversions. Content should include: * Machine walkarounds. * 4x4 and rough-terrain demonstrations. * Mast, engine, transmission and differential explanations. * Attachment demonstrations. * High-range and low-range operation. * Cabin controls, LCD screens and cameras. * Pre-delivery inspections. * Customer deliveries and handovers. * Maintenance and operating tips. * Machine comparisons. * Customer questions and safety features. Technical information must be checked against approved specifications and must never be guessed. ## 3. Product Images Create and maintain a professional image library. Work includes: * Correct lighting, colour, cropping and backgrounds. * Create front, rear, side, cabin and feature images. * Produce transparent-background machine and attachment images. * Add simple feature and specification callouts. * Create website banners, advertisements and video thumbnails. * Resize and compress images for fast website loading. * Use descriptive filenames and alternative text. * Store all editable source files in organised folders. * Maintain consistent SYM branding. ## 4. Search Engine Optimisation Take responsibility for technical, product and local SEO. Responsibilities include: * Complete a technical SEO and website crawlability audit. * Research Australian forklift and machinery search terms. * Create a keyword plan for machines, attachments and applications. * Optimise titles, descriptions, headings, URLs and images. * Create unique content for every machine and attachment. * Add product, video, FAQ and business structured data where suitable. * Improve internal links. * Maintain sitemaps, redirects and canonical URLs. * Correct broken links, duplicate content and indexing problems. * Use Google Search Console and Google Analytics. * Track calls, forms, finance enquiries and completed configurations. * Provide a monthly report showing completed work and results. SEO performance will be measured by qualified enquiries and conversions, not traffic alone. ## 5. OEM Machine Portal The SYM portal must be the central source of truth for every machine. Each machine must have one permanent record linked to its serial number and chassis number, including: * Customer or stock order. * Factory and supplier. * Approved machine configuration. * Production stages and dates. * Engine, mast, transmission and axle details. * Attachments and optional equipment. * Compliance and safety requirements. * Quality-control evidence. * Factory photographs and test videos. * Freight and customs documents. * Pre-shipment approval. * Australian arrival inspection. * Workshop preparation and PDI. * Data plates. * Customer handover. * Warranty and service history. The applicant must simplify the portal, add role-based access, required-next-step prompts, approvals, rejections, notifications and audit history. A machine must not advance when mandatory information or evidence is missing. **NO DOCUMENTS – NO PRODUCTION – NO SHIPMENT.** ## 6. Workshop Job Cards Create simple digital job cards that technicians can complete on a phone or tablet. Each job card must include: * Job number, type and priority. * Customer and site. * Model, serial number and chassis number. * Hour-meter reading. * Customer-reported fault. * Assigned technician. * Scheduled and actual times. * Safety and risk checks. * Initial machine condition. * Diagnostic findings and fault codes. * Required and approved work. * Parts, quantities and labour. * Before-and-after photographs. * Technician notes. * Operational and safety tests. * Outstanding recommendations. * Warranty status. * Technician, supervisor and customer approvals. * Completion report. * Next service date or hour interval. A job cannot be closed until all required evidence, testing and approvals are complete. ## 7. Workflows and App Integrations Review existing systems before recommending more software. Potential integrations include: * Website enquiries. * CRM and sales pipeline. * ClickSend SMS. * Quotes and proposals. * Accounting. * Parts and inventory. * Workshop scheduling. * Technician mobile job cards. * OEM portal. * Electronic signatures. * Freight and compliance documents. * Warranty and service reminders. * Management reporting. Every app recommendation must explain its purpose, costs, subscriptions, integrations, data ownership, security, mobile access, expected time savings and training requirements. The objective is to simplify work and prevent duplicate data entry. Systems to assess include: * **Existing SYM Portal:** Central machine, production and compliance record. * **Simpro:** Workshop jobs, technician scheduling, forms, timesheets, stock and service management. * **Odoo Manufacturing:** Production orders, bills of materials, quality, maintenance and inventory. * **Fiix:** Maintenance work orders, assets, parts and inspections. * **Google Search Console and Analytics:** SEO, website performance and enquiry tracking. * **Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or equivalent:** Professional video production. * **Meta Business Suite and YouTube Studio:** Publishing, scheduling and performance reporting. OEM systems such as Toyota MyInsights, Hyster Tracker, myLinde, MySANY and Caterpillar VisionLink should be reviewed for ideas including digital inspections, service requests, parts manuals, maintenance history, operator access, alerts and equipment dashboards. ## 8. Initiative and Time Management For every project, the applicant must prepare their own brief covering: * Objective and current problem. * Proposed solution. * Deliverables. * Acceptance criteria. * Required information. * Dependencies and risks. * Estimated hours. * Completion date. * Testing and handover process. They must maintain a prioritised work list, provide weekly updates, identify blockers early and clearly separate completed, in-progress and pending work. Unfinished work must never be presented as complete. ## Initial Deliverables Within the first 30 days: * Complete website, SEO, content and workflow audits. * Prepare a prioritised 90-day plan. * Correct urgent website and tracking problems. * Create product-page, image, video and job-card templates. * Establish a content calendar. * Map the lead-to-sale-to-service workflow. * Prepare the portal and integration plan. Within 60–90 days: * Launch improved priority product pages. * Establish regular video publishing. * Implement digital workshop job cards. * Connect workshop and service records to machines. * Implement approved automations. * Create reporting dashboards and user instructions. ## Applicant Requirements Applicants must provide: 1. Hi, keeping machinery specifications, website content, videos, images, and enquiry flows consistent becomes difficult when each part is managed separately, especially when technical information must never be guessed. The bigger opportunity is to connect the content workflow to the actual product data, so machine pages, media, comparisons, and customer actions stay accurate as the range changes. The first step should be auditing where product information currently lives and identifying which updates are manual, duplicated, or difficult to verify. The result should be a system that is easier to maintain and harder to break. Are the machine specifications currently managed in one central source, or are they maintained separately across the websites and content?
