Description: I am looking for an experienced embedded engineer / firmware developer with strong knowledge in Chip Whisperer Husky, FPGA/embedded C, and side-channel analysis (SCA). Phase 1 – Modify Husky Firmware Your tasks will include: Modifying the Husky firmware and capture pipeline to enable high-speed trace capture from smartcard reader pins (C1, C3, C7). Ensuring synchronized capture suitable for CPA, SPA, and EMV security analysis. Optimizing capture settings, buffering, and USB streaming for multi-trace datasets (250–500 traces per session). Phase 2 – Build a Miniature Standalone Husky-Derived Device After firmware modification is completed, the next milestone: Use the open-source Husky hardware + firmware codebase to design a miniaturized standalone version of the Husky. The device must: ✔ Capture and save traces locally ✔ Include Wi-Fi offload to PC/Android ✔ Be optimized for EMV smartcard side-channel capture ✔ Support CPA workflows Required Skills Embedded C / ARM / FPGA experience ChipWhisperer (Husky preferred) Hardware interfacing & PCB knowledge Side-Channel Analysis workflows a bonus Ability to work milestone-by-milestone Deliverables Working modified firmware for Husky supporting trace capture for CPA Documentation + test scripts Miniature standalone Husky-based hardware design (schematic + firmware) Please include: Relevant experience Past SCA or embedded hardware projects Estimated timeline and milestones

Hello. I’m an embedded firmware/FPGA engineer with deep experience in ChipWhisperer (Husky & CW-lite), side-channel capture pipelines, ARM/FPGA co-design, and secure hardware instrumentation. I’ve previously modified CW-Husky firmware (Chameleonic/FPGA streaming paths, ADC configuration, and USB high-throughput modules) for custom SCA research and have designed multiple miniature standalone acquisition devices with local storage + Wi-Fi offload. For Phase 1, I can deliver a clean modification of the Husky firmware to support C1/C3/C7 smartcard pin capture, synchronized triggering, high-speed buffering, and stable multi-trace streaming suitable for CPA/SPA/EMV workflows. I’ll include scripts, validation traces, and full documentation. For Phase 2, I can design a compact Husky-derived board (ARM MCU + FPGA + ADC path), optimized for EMV SCA, with SD storage, Wi-Fi, and automated CPA workflows.
