Hi, I work for a Financial Services Firm and each quarter we are legally obliged to produce a quarterly report that is sent out to investors detailing the progress made in our investment portfolio. This document is between 40-70 pages long and contains long-form text, images, as well as graphs and tables. It requires multiple tables of contents and some pages are landscape (to fit in large tables). It is a complex document and although we have a template, we believe this could be improved. We produce the text in-house and work with a Fund Services firm to include the tables. A big issue we have is making sure all of the headers, footers, page numbers and tables of contents align. Furthermore, when we send the formatted document to the external Fund Services firm via email, the formatting is destroyed, so their tables need to be added in in-house which is a duplication of work and means there is room for human error. We are looking to work with someone who could improve our template so it does not need to be formatted each time and help us solve the problem of having the formatting destroyed when we send externally via email. I, unfortunately, cannot share the document at this stage because it is confidential but open to discussing. Thanks, sophie

Hi Sophie, I have gone through all the detail and requirement to get a template of MS Word that is not disturbed when any new data ,table or graph is added. Its really tough to make sure corrections done after every single change and proof reading the document again and again which require time and concentration. Well ,there are features in MS Word that allow sections definition and every section can have different formatting . So when a change is done in one section , it wont effect whole document. To change formatting in a document, insert a section break at the beginning of where you want the change. Set up the formatting change just past the new section break. If you want to change formatting again, put in another section break. Similarly there are other advance options to have desired formatted template, landscape pages can also be handled separately.
