We use a datafeed to import products from another webshop. During this import we generate Wordpress Customs Fields for each post (each product have their own post). I self can determine how to name the 'key' of the custom field.
An example of key's and values would be something like this:
Key - Value
Gender - Male
Vendor - Nike
Color - White
What I'm looking for is a Wordpress Widget where I can determine which custom fields I want to use based on the name of the key of the custom field. The widget should retrieve all possible values (in the above example all other vendors, genders and colors) and place them in a dropdown list.
It should be possible to select multiple custom field to generate the url. If I fill in gender, vendor and color the widget should create three dropdown lists. The widget will retrieve all possible values of a specific custom field at that time. Basicly the widget is dynamic so when a new vendor is used, there's a new value created when I import the datafeed. This new vendor will show up in the dropdown lists.
So the sidebar will show (in this case) three pull down menu's where the user can select one or multiple.
If the user push the search button an url will be generated based upon the selected values. The structure of the url is /tag/(value1)+(value2)+(value3)
Based on the above values the url would be: /tag/male+nike+white
I use the Wordpress tag template/page to the display the result.
* The idea is inspired on a plugin/widget of [url removed, login to view]
This plugin/widget allows you to select a key and will retrieve all available values on that key. I want the same kind of usability to place a widget, but I want it to create drill-down boxes which will generate an url based on the selected choices.
