A yoga manual is one of the few documents where a proofreader can do damage by being technically right, because asana names and breath cues follow conventions that spellcheck flags as errors and a tidy editor quietly corrects into something that reads wrong to anybody who actually practices. So my first pass changes nothing. I read the whole manual and build a short style sheet of your recurring terms, your capitalization, whether Sanskrit leads with English in parentheses or the other way, how you punctuate cues, and then I hold the rest of the manuscript to your own choices. The second pass is the real one for grammar, punctuation, agreement, and the consistency problems instructional writing always has, like a numbered sequence that starts in the imperative and slides into gerunds halfway down the page, or the same pose spelled two ways sixty pages apart. On formatting I'll give you real heading styles, list levels that nest correctly, and uniform spacing that survives export to PDF, with no hand applied formatting that breaks the moment you add a paragraph. I'm not a designer though, so if what you want is a typeset book with laid out pages and a cover, that's somebody else. Roughly how many pages is it, and is it a Word file already or a PDF I'd be marking up?
