Graphic Design / Web Design

We require a web designer to come up with a design for a dental technician. We require HTML, CSS and image files for the final site. A PSD is not satisfactory, although you may wish to provide mock-ups as images or PSDs to show the design is in progress. Technical Requirements The design will be integrated with our CMS, so experience with HTML::Template (a Perl-based templating system) would be great, but experience with any template based design (Smarty, Template Toolkit etc) would be beneficial. However, we will consider anyone who is good at both HTML and graphic design, but has no experience with templates. The design will consist of a table-less CSS-based layout, and it should support IE 5.0+, Firefox foremost, and Safari and Opera would be nice. Please note that cross-browser compatibility is important. The design must be XHTML compliant. The site will have two design levels – the main page and the other content pages. All menus should be text-based and not require graphics. The site should be accessible, so no fixed font sizes. The customer has not decided on whether they want a new logo or will use their existing one, so you may have to help design the “brand”. Graphics should be used for visual interest but it is imperative that the site is quick to load, so there should be no large un-optimised images. It may be that the customer will offer feedback on the design and will changes may be evolutionary. Some allowances for this should be made in your quote Business Requirements The designer will be taking some of the work that we do not have time to do. As such, the quality of the work is important as it reflects upon us. Likewise, we need the designer to respond promptly and professionally, as this is how we operate, and we want the level of service to appear seamless.
