1- Three Phase Digital Energy Meter:
The idea of the project is to replace the conventional mechanical electricity meter with digital MDI and multi-tariff support meters, which may be capable of reporting their data wirelessly to the control/server room. New energy meter IC or SOC solutions are available from different companies. The one I used in the project is ADE7754 and ADE7758 from Analog Devices to measure the three-phase energy consumption as well as other parameters required by the Power companies to calculate the electricity bills for consumer.
2- AMR or Automatic Meter Reading (Wireless): The idea is to interlink the metes with Control room through some wireless communication source. There are three different choices.
1) Bluetooth/Zigbee
2) GSM
3) RF
The architecture upon different available choices of wireless communication is being discussed and designed so this module is in analysis phase.
My Role: My major role for the project is designing the hardware as well as the embedded software development for the system. The design and development of software at server/pc side is also my responsibilities. There is a team of hardware software development and I used to work as a lead developer and system(software) support engineer.
3- Face recognition for Access Control and Attendance System
This project started due the failure of biometric fingerprint sensors in an environment where labor work is being performed usually factories. The contact of oily or dusty fingers makes these sensors out of work soon so it was becoming a costly and hectic for the companies to replace the sensor again and again. The solution designed this time is based on contact-less PC-Cam based face recognition. A console like ATM machine is made to captures the face images properly in proper lights and rest is the old story of image recognition algorithms and techniques used to identify the person from the database. The system is useful for the 250 persons and being installed on undeveloped factory environments where the environment was actually affecting the biometric sensors. Over all it was a software project which was developed using MicrosoftEUR(TM)s Visual Studio environment.

Responsibilities: The main task for the given projects was embedded and PC side software development and their integration. I have worked as Leading Developer and Research Associate for these projects. My primary tasks include leading my team of software and hardware developers, and technically design and development the complete project.
