Professional, flexible and good-humoured, with 25 years’ experience translating FROM French and Italian INTO English, and nearly 20 years teaching English, Maths and IT skills. I don’t translate INTO French or Italian. Excellent proof reader: especially if English isn't your first language, I can help. I will correct errors of spelling, grammar and punctuation, but also improve word choice and sentence structure where necessary, improving clarity and flow. I have first-hand experience in the education and finance sectors and a business qualification. I can produce great-looking documents in Word, whether researching and writing the text or just formatting yours. I've delivered training to tutors and teachers all over the UK and am also happy teaching one-to-one, whether face-to-face or online. Very patient tutor!

Ages have ranged from 16 to 92 (this last was a lady who learned to use a computer so she could email her grandson overseas). I love helping people learn, whether face-to-face, by email, telephone or Skype and will always find a way that works for you.

Freelance translator from French and Italian)

May 1988

I have been working as a freelance for this agency since 1988, translating a wide range of texts from French and Italian to English and always had very good feedback. Topics have included Quality documentation (ISO9000), company accounts (I have a background in international banking) and, more recently, a website on Health and Nutrition.

I was heavily involved in writing policies and procedures in the early days of interest rate swaps, financial futures and other derivatives, and frequently accompanied senior management on overseas visits, partly because of my language skills. At Chemical Bank I managed a section which designed, tested and implemented ICT solutions for the dealing room - although
