WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE OIL RUNS OUT?.........................
Oil has been used for lighting purposes for many thousand years. Nowadays, it is the main fuel for power generation and transportation. The first successful oil well was drilled to a deep of 69 feet in 1859 for the sole purpose of finding oil. All countries depend on oil as the fuel of choice in the transport sector. Cars, trucks, aircrafts and ships use almost exclusively oil products to fuel their engines. The exceptions lie in vehicles, usually taxis or buses, which have been adapted for natural gas or LPG as a substitute; and in cars with engines designed to burn alcohol as in Brazil. Nevertheless oil continues to dominate in a sector which is rightly considered as the network of blood vessels of the economic organism. Any problem that affects the transport sector severely damages the economy and in extreme cases can bring it to a complete standstill. Now the question is When oil run out and what will happen when it does? These are the two main questions I wonder when I think a
