A micro coded state machine
It was an exam question and very interesting one. We had to write the code of datapath and the controller This is a micro coded state machine which has the following command set Ai = A0 ± A1 ± A2 ± A3 Ai = A0 ± A1 ± A2 Ai = A0 ± A1 Ai = Aj for i;j = 0,1,2,3 if A0, jump LABEL if (!A0) jump LABEL if A0 call subroutine at LABEL Where A0, A1, A2 and A3 are 16-bit registers. The register A0 is also used in condition jump instruction for its zero or non zero value. Assume PM is 256 deep and LABEL is any legal address in the PM.
