An Accountant (CPA) and an MBA from Drexel University in Philadelphia, I have an avid interest in the written and the spoken word. I tend to slightly differ with George Orwell who said "good writing should be like a window pane, conveying the view without distortion or embellishment." Good writing should be that, but if possible convey the view with a flourish too. Or else it will remain drab, too utilitarian. For me the pleasure of using a word that is not only right but also lends to an intake of breath for the sheer beauty of language often eases (and greases) the intake of ideas and views.
