I explored new methods of manufacturing, to lower the carbon footprint on the environment and increase the recyclability of alpine skis.

At the time the manufacturing skis had not been innovated for 30-40 years. The issues with the previous method were that 150% more material is used than the combined width to build a ski, creating a vast amount of non-degradable plastic waste. Only 2-3 pairs of skis could be made per hour. And finally, the total embodied result after manufacturing yields of 53.57 kg of CO2 per pair.

My solution to this problem is to use recycled chopped carbon fibre-filled nylon. By using this material I can use the process of injection moulding, which will reduce the amount of waste to 10%, increase the production capabilities and use almost 95% recycled materials.

Outcast Ski - Product Design Design

The Pill Brook side table is a part of a series that I designed for the interior design studio Eadie & Crole. Each part of the collection is named after a body of water in the Test Valley, where the studio is based.

Furniture Design - Interiors

This collection of pieces is from a series called The Colour Collection. I designed ten pieces for interior designer Georgie Wykeham.

I designed and prepared them for manufacturing, where I then had them produced by a cabinetry workshop based in Hampshire.

I entered Boat International’s 2020 yacht design competition. Entrants were tasked with designing a refitted, recently acquired yacht. In their submissions, they were required to give guidance on how the yacht should be modified and include plans for a new internal layout, design style and substantial changes to the exterior.

Yacht Exterior Design

I visualise two new office developments based in Croydon and Birmingham. We received technical drawings from the architects which my team quickly turned into 3D. I created mood boards illustrating the style and feel for each space, keeping in mind the tones and colours the architects had guided me within their design pack.

A solution to visualising fabrics can now be done digitally using CGI. One of my first projects, when I started ProXdesign, was to create photo-realistic room layouts for a hand-block printing company. Due to the high cost of upholstering and creating real-life room sets just for marketing purposes, I was asked to create 3D visuals which are far more cost-efficient, as well as dynamic when it came to changing things.

This was no easy task as all the prints were hand printed which meant that they weren’t created digitally and therefore leaving human symmetry errors. I photographed each print and then digitally edited the symmetry so that the repeat would work one after the other. Having created a digital version of the prints I could import them into Keyshot where I could use them as a texture on the pieces of furniture I had laid out.
