In the framework of interaction systems (like Escrow service or other buyer protection) the customer creates a separate contract for every stage. Before the beginning of each stage the "to do list" should be agreed. Any additional work on the stage are made collateral contract. The transition to the next phase occurs after the adoption of the current phase and payments on it. This approach allows the customer to abandon the less valuable features of the application, change the specification as work progresses, and even at some point stop the development, without prejudice to the application.
