In this work designing and stress analysis of a 'S' type load cell is done using SolidWorks and finite element method. The designing and stress analysis is carried out to check the sensitivity of the load cell using strain gauge. The intention of the work is to create the geometry “S” type load cell to find out the optimum solution. SOLIDWORKS is used for designing the load cells with the required dimensions with respect to the load cell model. Finite Element Method is used for shape optimization of “S” type load cell.The certain dimensions are modified to reduce the amount of material required. The procedure is repeated until design changes satisfying all the criteria. keywords-solidworks,solidworks simulations, load cell. The sensitivity of the load cell can be determined by maximum and minimum strain values.
