I like to see software done well, and have a great interest in abstraction techniques and system design. In my previous job I designed and implemented the back end software for a major SaaS site with 70,000 active users (details available on request). This was largely implemented in Perl. Past work has included being a research assistant working on AI software in Perl and Qt/C++, and financial database applications in C++. I'm currently developing my own cross platform software in Qt/C++, aimed at researchers, and taking occasional contract/consulting work to help pay the bills until I have my own product on the market :)
