Growing up

This photograph was taken during an afternoon I spent with a Bedouin tribe in the Negev Desert. The children were walking from the sheep pen back to their house, kicking rocks and running about, as the sun began to lower over the horizon. The culture they have grown up in rejects all modernity. Yet, the power lines that connect even the most distance of places display the inability to maintain disconnected.
