The SmartGame application is comprised of three major components: ? Mobile side application ? Secured database server ? Web services to facilitate the database access These subsystems will interact with each other by using a server/client model. The database server will store all of the data, including but not limited to: the database of device information, location information, message information, and session logging information. The mobile client will send and receive data to and from the server to view or edit information about the items. The subsystems will use web services based on REST and ajax to communicate. The web services use PHP Data Object (PDO) model to communicate with the database. By using this design pattern, multiple mobile clients can access the data concurrently.
