Site Power Mind Grip
pring of 2008 marked the beginning of Power Mind Grip (PMG). As the USTA season got underway that year, Rafael C. Lima, a tennis pro in Mill Valley, CA, had a few students who wanted to take a more competitive approach to the game. Standing around the water cooler on the court, one student (Gina Seaborg co-founder of PMG) commented on hearing that players taped phrases like "Watch The Ball" onto their tennis racquets. Gina and Rafael looked at each other... and then the light bulbs went on, excitement ensued and ideas swirled around. "Where could we tape ours, and what would our keywords be...has this been done before?" Then, the neck of the tennis racquet seemed to be the perfect focal point! The "tennis mantra" would be right in front of our eyes, a signal to the mind, and during those quiet, lonely, anxious moments on the court, would calm the mind, and train the mind with the "power cues".
