I've made a few changes as you suggest, specially cleaning the background. I changed the minimap too, but I suggest you to use the last minimap (its purpose isn't to give detailed information. Its just to fit exactly where in California is located the city, as noticed by the blue strip). I add a scale, I think it would be useful. Please note that a few details, like Cal Poly building (it is a real building shaped and drawn) will look better in 300 dpi. The SLO creek crowded a little the map, and if it won't be mentioned in your book, would be better not take it to the map. The map should have some unique stuffs of your story, like creatures, vehicles, weapons, or even how the Rift looks like. If you give me things like that, it will improve a lot. I need information to make the best work on time, so please answer me asap. Att.

I'm going to ask for one more set of changes, then that'll give me enough information to make a decision about the winner. I'm trying not to ask TOO much at this stage, because I don't want to waste too much of your time, since you don't get anything if you don't win the contest. Are you okay making smaller changes in post-contest if you win?
Anyways, here's the one thing I'd like to see to give your entry a good chance at winning...
Can you show me what it would look like with the following things in a "Legend" in the corner, similar to #9?
“The Rift”
“Bill and Lisa’s House”
“Pieter’s Mom’s House”
“Vero’s House”
“Pieter’s Dad’s House”
“Neil’s House”
"Training spot"
And design some kind of marker to mark those spots. Or do houses like #11. Whatever you think works best.
