     firstly, i am an Electrical and computer Engineer, not a designer, so i do not work with designs.. I just ask a graphic designer to do it so i am not familiar with graphic design websites. Secondly, I agree that the work should be unique, wat else a contest holder like more than original ideas, however, people look at already designed logos which is fine, now how closely the design is copied, I am not an expert in that.. Copyright prevents exact copy, patent or trademark offers more protection, again i am not expert in that...

     third, i remind you again that google is a text based search engine, u cannot upload an image for google to find for u... to check textual plagiarism use can use a number of services around including copyscape, turnitin etc . fourth, designers can come up with 100 ideas in few hours as they can edit their existing work which was not accepted as the logo of another business, which is fine given the compensation they are getting.. If very original ideas are asked for, the designer should be guaranteed compensation for time spent which is fair, however, due to competition and limited resources it is usually not possible for small businesses or startups which form bulk of freelancer users. The world is not ideal, and we keep trying to make it better and live happily with what we have :).. I will be on website mock up contest from now on.. If u r a designer, feel free to post entries..

  i donot want to limit your creativity, however i was thinking green color to show safe/secure.. but that doesn't mean green is the only option
