Hello:
Attached are two working files:

1) My original jpg logo of a scottish bagpiper, piper.jpg - (old)
2) A potential ai vector redesign of old logo logo.ai - (new)

DETAILS OF PROJECT:
I need the (new) vector logo to more closely match the (old) logo. I'm unsure of what is missing, but feel free to fill in the blanks for me and help me figure this out. The (old) logo and the (new) logo need to BLEND better, basically the (new) logo has to look more like the (old) logo, but an 'upgraded' version of the (old) logo.

It needs to show 'lineage' and needs to look more 'connected' to the original (old) logo of the past. Looking for a more traditional look combined with a fresh 2016 'upgrade'.

Possible additions to (new) vector logo that may work are:

1) More detail (subtle but strong detail?)
2) Better colour scheme of bagpiper? (new)
3) Improved aspect ratio? (make ai logo wider?)
4) A strong but simple presence.
5) Less cartoony looking?

REMEMBER: REMAKE THE NEW LOGO SO IT MATCHES THE OLD ONE BETTER.

Again, I'm unsure of *exactly* what is required to make the (new) vector logo *POP*, but please be creative and experiment here. Keep in mind, the (old) logo is BLUE, and I'm looking for the (new) logo to be coloured.

Note: NO TEXT is required, this project is specifically about the logo itself.

  Don't you have a better photo of your original logo? I'm just asking because the jpeg you've posted is quite low-resolution and so, making the face closer to it is possible only with simulation of that "low-res effect". Is it what you're looking for? Thank you.
