Yarışma Özeti
The current logo was produced for a start up website, Wedding Spaces, an online site allowing couples to search, price, and compare wedding venues across Asia / Australia markets, which is currently in beta development. Feedback from invited testers has been very positive except for the logo and typography, both of which have been universally criticised as "seems little garish/old fashioned" "hot pink seems lightly dated and overly girly" "use other font than current". [Note we'd previously used a pink colour before changing to an pastel aqua marine but even this doesn't come across well]
We still like the diamond graphic as it's used on maps to mark venue locations (see attached), and seems more consistent than simply typical direction marker, however as you see on the reference the diamond lacks character so open to alternative designs when used alone with supporting text, in other words logo must be usable as a stand-alone icon/favicon. The logo should express right-away the concept is about locating venues as much as comparison shopping between them.
Lastly, as you can see from the previous design iterations the submitted entries have all pretty much been very flat in the design (no fancy shadow, gradient, 3d effect, and such). There is absolutely nothing wrong with this kind of design but we would also like to encourage new designers to add some punch, personality, and polish it up a little.
The logo should present a very professional and classy feel.

***UPDATE****
While we appreciate the contributions to date we are not seeing any new iterations to the specs we envisioned. Too many of the designs are clip art mashups of various styles in odd colours that when combined do not represent the premium visual we are seeking.
We think the idea of combining an engagement ring with the spot icon is brilliant and original. These two shapes represent what Wedding Spaces is about, however, we think that the execution can be further refined.
NOTE: To this extent we prematurely awarded a winner, however the contributor could not deliver us the finished result, moving beyond the clip art look, so we re-opened the contest.
We count four details / effects on the current highly rated version:
the “bling/shine” next to the diamond
the detailed diamond
shadow underneath the logo
a reflection effect on the circle
We believe less is more and are drawn to simple, elegant, understated logos...this too would be the direction we are looking for Wedding Spaces. We found the current versions have too many elements and as a result, they look somewhat clipart-ish and have yet to exude that sophistication that we know lies behind the most recent iteration.
A few ideas:
Keep as current with lesser “details” / choose one effect (Apple logo has the shine/reflection, Dropbox has the shading effect, Tiffany & Co has that iconic color, Cathay Pacific has the brushwing icon)
Same idea but with “handdrawn” effect / sketch or a stylised version of this
Play with several versions of “incomplete” drawing
