Add autocomplete history to android text field

I currently have a simple android textfield. I would like it converting to an autocomplete field that remembers previous inputs, and uses those inputs as the autocomplete suggestions.
This should use the android shared preferences to save inputs, and suggest these as autocomplete inputs when app is reopened
