Recompile open source project and refactor VS extension

The project is very easy and not time cosuming for an experience C# developer. the task is to dowload the master code from [url removed, login to view]
1) Update the code so it compiles with Visual Studio 2017 (90% of the code already does what it need to be updated is the setup project that is not compatible with VS 2017 and manage the build order and references so it builds properly under VS 2017)
2)Refactor the visual studio extension of the project so when the project compiles and builds the solution the resulting SETUP program will install the Visual Studio add-in in visual studio 2017 and of course verify that the extension works.
Success of the project and delivery will be measure in 2 ways:
1) Source will be deliverered on a zip file, the source will be extracte on to a folder and the solution will be openned in VS 2017, without having to change anything on the solution the soultion must build succesfully and create the setup executable for the Visual Studio Add-in.
2) The resulting Setup Program for that build will be used to instal the extension in VS 2017 and the functionality will be tested to make sure the extension is working.
