Android developers, we are seeking an Android app capable of sending an auto response to the sender of a SMS (text) if the smart phone is moving above a certain speed. The app should recognize if a smart phone is in motion above 5 mph (2.24 meters per second) and sending an automated response to the sender of a SMS (text message) upon receipt that the phone is in motion. Auto text should be sent using the standard SMS application installed on Android phones. Motion can be detected by the phone GPS, prompting the user to "Turn on GPS" if GPS is not on. The app will follow Android developer best practices using a Holo Dark theme UI with menu 1) settings: App: on/off, GPS on/off, Auto Response: 3 SMS auto response options, Sound:on/off. The work will include all source code and documentation and upload assets including Android certificate ready for publication to Google Play. Owner will provide application icon and promotional graphics. We will publish the application.
This is the first generation. The second generation will include detecting motion without GPS, using cellular protocol to detect motion. We will also be requesting proposals for a matching iPhone app. Please propose these additions if you are capable of doing this additional work.
