We need to develop the following application for Android devices (starting From Android Froyo 2.2 to current release. We need to support almost all available screen resolution, including tablets)
The development will be made in milestones. Every milestone will add new functions to the app.
We need to find a way to turn on/off a function while compiling the app as we will have different versions (I.e. compile switch)
Milestone 1:
1. General structure of the app, suitable to support all functions
2. GUI definition (we will provide the graphic later on, first development will be made with standard Android graphic/widget)
3. Development of the storyboard pages of the whole application: splashscreen, startup login page, main menu, setup menu, info, help, Antitheft page, tracking page, Keep alive page, SOS page, Man down page
4. Accelerometer management: detect a movement to start GPS acquisition and:
a. send alarm message to the central station
b. start periodic tracking with period defined by the customer using setup menu
c. If geofence option active, start tracking only on the exit of the Geofence area
d. Receiving voice call mode in silent mode and with auto answer (if possible)
5. Geofence: user will start the function and the app will define the center of a circular area (with defined radius). If the device exit from this Geofence circular area, the app shall act as for point 4.
6. Periodic Tracking: it is started manually with the dedicated button
Milestone 2:
1. Voice Call: receive voice call without sound and perform auto answer (no intervention from users)
2. Keep Alive: when the function is active, the app will ask users to periodically push a button on the screen. If the user press it, the timer is re-armed, otherwise the app shall act as stated for point 4 in Milestone 1.
3. Manual SOS: pressing a defined button (we will support 3 different SOS) will make the app send a message.
Milestone 3:
1. Man down: if function is active, the app shall detect an acceleration over a defined threshold (Set using setup menu) and behave like stated in point 4 of Milestone 1
2. Background working of all previous features.
MESSAGES:
Internet available: ASCII string sent over UDP to a dedicated IP address. Management of ACK from Server and Re-sending in case of NACK.
Internet non available: sent SMS with the same content of the ASCII message (without the need of user intervention).
App need to check the presence/absence of data connection to switch automatically the message sending mode.
GENERAL:
Graphic design: supplied by us.
Software to debut UDP connection: supplied by US (if needed)
Server for testing: supplied by us.
The product need to be fully tested from your side before release.
Final test and QA will be performed by us.
App will be published on Apple Store so all development criteria imposed by Apple need to be respected.
All the code need to be commented in English and will be delivered at the end of the development
