enhance laser printer density

I want the laser printer (HP LaserJet CP1215) printing density to be enhanced, at least double the current density. Currently this model of printer has not such a setting. I wish you could either add a density setting in the printer setting UI or make it configurable in a configuration file.

I use it under Windows or Linux. So a custom printer driver needs to be developed or somehow to tweak the existing driver.

Programmer with previous experience in similar project will be preferred. Please explain your plan. Thanks.
