You are required to simulate the most elementary queuing system viz. M/M/1.
The range of traffic intensity, ρ, is between 0.1 and 0.9. Choose input and service rate as per your convenience.
The required simulation outputs are
Average queue length
Fraction of time the queue is empty
Snap shot of the queue showing the queue length at that moment, and average queue length till that time.
The required confidence level is 90% and confidence interval is ∓ 0.5. Choose the number of simulation runs accordingly.
You will need to simulate Poisson arrivals (usually done by simulating interarrival times) and services (using service time statistics). Please make sure that your random number generator is unbiased and simulated arrival/service statistics (histograms) are close to the theoretical values .
