Outlook Stationery Install Tool

I am creating a set of HTML email templates that will be used by a corporate client for internal email communications. I need to provide a web page on their intranet that allows users to select, download and install the stationery files onto their local machine. I am looking for a more elegant solution than I currently have. The HTML email templates will be used as Outlook stationery. "Installing Outlook stationery" is simply copying a file to the user's "Application Data" folder (Application Data/Microsoft/Stationery). I have been creating a Windows installer .msi for each stationery. Currently, the user clicks on a link that launches the installer. Then they click "Open" in a "File Download" dialogue. Then they wonder what to do for a second after the installer launches, and eventually click through the 3 installer steps accepting all the defaults and successfully install the template. I am looking for a solution that requires less from the user. Ideally they would click a link on a web page, press Accept in one dialogue box and be done. I'm looking for any suggestions as to way to accomplish that. I'm not really aware of security issues, but all I'm really looking for is a way to copy a file to a specific place on the user's machine without any input from the user as to where the file should go. It seems like Java or .NET or something could do it, but I'm not a programmer. Somewhat separately, when installing the templates, it would be useful to check and possibly change some Outlook preferences. If you have experience programatically accessing and changing Outlook preferences (especially regarding stationery and signatures), please let me know. I would like to be able to set the user's default email format to HTML, for instance. This paragraph would probably develop into a separate project.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables):

a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be successfully installed by or with assistance from the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

## Platform

All users will be using Outlook 2000 and Windows 2000. The solution should also work on new versions of Windows and Outlook. The intranet server is IIS running .NET. I'm not sure of the versions but could find out if needed.
