Apache script needed for redirect for HTTPS and WWW

I am trying to create a redirect for a website from https to http and also address preferred domain redirect of www at the same time.
I do have a SSL certificate in place but do not want to use the https domain at this time, so I want to redirect traffic to non-HTTPS site.
The project will be providing me the code to use, as well as an explanation of why it works, the ordering it should be in, etc.
System is Apache version 2.2.17
PHP version 5.3.27
