Browser Compatibility Fix

I need a browser compatibility fix an issue on one web page that affects only Chrome and Opera browsers.
The web page uses a custom PHP script that has several Vimeo videos embedded on a page that play in a popup lightbox when the play button is clicked. In Firefox and IE the videos play fine in the lightbox and there is no issue.
The problem is in Chrome and Opera browsers all audio from the several videos starts playing at once and is heard without even clicking any play button. I need this fixed, so that the videos only play when the play button is clicked.
