Ironically, my education began in a psych ward where I was a patient learning what co-dependency is, and the impact of birgits abuse was having on me . It was a life changing moment when I began to plant seeds of understanding. It took years but they grew into partial understandings. We were all co- dependent and thought it was our fault Birgit was so mean to us
Kallan I am so sorry for being away from you. It took me years to learn that it was not my fault and that my thoughts were not true — they were just thoughts that were negatively biased against myself and I’ve since stopped believing my own lies (This turns out to be an innate human condition).
And this is the story about what happened before the psych ward and the loosening of the world we shared
I adored Birgit and her family as they were my first normal family unit I had ever had the amazing opportunity to embrace. I loved being part of a family unit and I did everything I could for them
I built the pasture by burning thousands of Christmas trees and built the fence and stuff in front of your grandfather’s home and hand dug their septic field etc . I wanted to make all of their dreams come true. We laughed a lot and I will always miss them
