Essentially, we are going to have 5 product groups for shipping.
• Frozen Food
• Dry Goods / Non – Frozen Food (everything else)
• Pre Order Easter
• Pre order Christmas
• Curbside Pick Up
The shopping cart needs to know the difference between frozen food and dry goods including Non-Food items.
Frozen Foods Must be shipped in a Styrofoam cooler with dry ice and have a 6LB minimum, we will charge a flat rate for $26.95 for all frozen food orders, they cannot ship unless they meet the 6lb requirement. The shopping cart needs to automatically warn the customer with a pop up that then reverts them to the frozen food section to add more items if they have not met the ship weight.
We need to have a minimum on Dry Goods purchased of $15.00. If a customer tries to buy less than $15.00 there needs to be a pop up letting them know the minimum and takes them to a suggested “Dry Goods” products screen. 1 customer will most likely be buying both frozen and dry goods at the same time. So, we want the transactions to be the same at checkout but with multiple shipping charges calculated together. Sometimes a customer will only be ordering frozen food and it will be the flat rate of $26.95, sometimes customers will only be ordering dry goods and the flat rate charge will be $6.95.
We also have another category called Pre orders. These happen twice a year for Christmas and Easter. Our customers purchase items months in advance, when we receive the items from England, we then ship them to the customer. Christmas & Easter products have their own categories on the website. When customers buy these items, and they mix in regular in stock items we need to separate them into two separate charges of $6.95.
Curbside Pick Up Button – We want a button that removes all shipping charges for curbside pick ups. This means we box everything up the store and the drive to the store and then we take it out to them at their car.
