Illustrator with modern comic style for children's book

I'm looking for an illustrator to create the art and typography for a children's book. This is a gift for my son, and my goal is for it to look as professional as one of his favorite books.
The age range is 5-9, boys. I'm thinking the size could be 10x10. There will be 18-20 images, some spanning both pages, plus cover and back. I'd like you to deliver the files ready to print.
The most important part is expressive faces, and a sense of humor and energy. I would prefer richer colors to washed out pastels. I have put together a storyboard. If you are interested in seeing it, I'm happy to share if you will find it to be helpful.
I started the work with an illustrator about 6 months, ago. I was absolutely loving what he did. But he was unable to continue. I'm happy to share those sketches as well.
In a perfect world, I'd like the artistic style of "Mind Your Monsters", by Catherine Bailey for the art, or "Sophie Peterman tells The Truth", by Sarah Weeks especially for the typography.
The closest words I can think of to describe the look is modern Comic Book, but that's not exactly right. If there is a better way to describe this style of art, please educate me! It's like it to be fun, modern, and vibrant with lots of movement. I'm not looking for a sweet, pastel, water color look, or anything hand drawn.
