Creating a program on Java (netbeans) That read pure words from a text file

I need to complete a program on Java that reads a text file and calculates the number of pure English words ( no punctuations , links , etc...) , and to use The Data structures forms ( Singly linked lists , Doubly linked lists , Array lists ) to find out which method is faster . The program should get each 500 words at a time , Then the total amount of time should be plotted in an excel sheet for each method .
