Web-link Directory System
Based on a generic open sourced directory system, the category info and web-links will be fed from a remote server using http protocol. The interface and sample source codes to the data source will be provided.
Requirements:
- original functionalities of the open source program to be preserved
- data source category structure to be used and the category structure of the original database should be disabled
- data source web-links and the directory database are to be linked using Link IDs
- thumb nail pictures from the data source to be displayed
- users can rate or add more information to the web-links
- approved new web-links that are not part of the data source can be added to the directory database
- search into both data source and database
- provide sufficient documentation for future open source upgrade
- target system is Linux using PHP and MySQL
