Integrate Gmail API into my custom PHP admin panel

I have a custom PHP admin panel. I need to integrate Gmail API ([url removed, login to view]) so that I can use the admin panel to send emails through Gmail. I do not want to use PHPmail because I want all correspondence and email history to be available in the gmail inbox sent folder.
Need someone who understands the Gmail API, and is confident in using it. Ongoing work also available for the perfect developer!
