Assessment Using MATLAB-A Project Overview

Almost all academic institutes in Pakistan use database software for their students’ assessment purposes but they lack the features for statistical analysis of results. We have developed a software as a student project course named “Probability & Statistics” to improve the functionality and capability of this database. This assessment software uses different basic statistical options that can help educators, especially math educators, to make assessment of their students in general.

RLC circuit response and analysis (using state space method)

This paper presents RLC circuit response and analysis, which is modeled using state space method. It provides a method with the exact accuracy to effectively calculate the state space models of RLC distributed interconnect (nodes) and transmission line in closed forms in time domain and transfer functions by recursive algorithms in frequency domain, where their RLC components can be evenly distributed or variously valued.

A robust observer and controller design for a DC motor with a low-resolution encoder

This work focuses on the problem of high-performance robust control of a dc motor in the presence of a low-resolution position encoder. An observer assisted feedback control scheme is presented in which a robust extended high-gain observer (EHGO) is designed for simultaneous estimation of motor speed and lumped system uncertainties. For the speed control problem, an improved integral sliding mode controller is proposed with a sigmoid boundary layer.
