A Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA UK), Corporate Lawyer, and Certified Financial Crime compliance professional (ICA, UK) with 30 years of experience in legal, compliance and finance processes at local, regional and global levels. I am registered with FCA and HMRC as a Fit & Proper person and currently leading a regulated function role in the UK. I have experience running Compliance, Legal and Finance functions independently and led Sanctions, ABAC and AML processes as a process owner. I led Audits in 30 different countries and managed cross-functional and cross-cultural teams across the world. I have exposure in all three lines of defence, i.e., the First line as a head of function (i.e., Finance, Legal, and Company Secretarial), second line as Subject Matter Expert of Sanctions, Export Control, ABAC, FCPA, CFA, AML and the third line as Global Audit manager. I understand and have experience in UK, USA and EU regulations, including FCA reporting. These exposures give me the strength to build a business focussed team and deploy effective processes and controls while balancing commercial objectives and regulatory expectations.
