Professional Experience November 02 -- till The Book-Exchange, UK Price Comparison Engine(PCE) – [login to view URL] Price Comparison Engine assists the user in purchasing new books from online bookshops (e.g. [login to view URL], [login to view URL] etc) by providing a price comparison service. The user can compare the prices of 15 or more different online booksellers and can then click through to the seller of his/her choice to complete the purchase. The aim of this project is to develop a module that provides a price comparison service for books for the UK market. The system must reliably allow the user to find the best price for a new book from a number of online booksellers. This is achieved by querying bookseller websites for the price of the book in real-time. The site provides alerts through mail and WAP according to the preference of the client. The news from the companies, Exchanges, markets are also provided in real time. The site also provides personalization of the tickers. The communication between JSP pages and Oracle database is done through session beans (stateful/stateless) and entity beans(CMP/BMP).
