My assurance to you: I know my strengths, as well as my liabilities. I do not bid jobs that I cannot do. I provide excellent work on projects and I keep a cheerful, yet professional attitude while doing it. About Me: -I am a native born American with English as my first language. -I hold two degrees: a B.S.E. in English Education with a minor in Creative Writing from a private liberal arts college and a M.A. in English, from a major university. Both holding the honor of Summa Cum Laude. -I was an English teacher for 11 years in a top-tier public highschool with a 97% graduation rate, followed by 90% of those graduates achieving at least a Bachelor’s degree from a four year university. My strengths: -ADAPTABLE VOICE: Specifically writing for the intended audience is essential for capturing and retaining the reader’s attention. I am able to take any subject matter and tailor it according to the level and comfort zone of the intended audience. I am a trained mimic of voice styles in writing. -RESEARCH: If I am unfamiliar with a particular topic or subject, I am confidant in my ability to research said topic until I have a thorough working knowledge to perform the task at hand. This type of research is done off the clock, at my own expense. -VOCABULARY: I have read thousands of books since early childhood and it has given me an extensive vocabulary of both standard English and more colloquial phrases and terms. More importantly, it has also given me the ability to use words that flow naturally according to the style of writing needed. -PRECISION & CONCISION: As both a writer and a reader, I believe there is a natural order to writing that needs to be followed. I often see writing that lacks the precise or “right” words for the subject matter and am often frustrated at the ridiculous repetition of the same point dressed up with flowery language. It is a blunder that will cause the reader to lose interest. -SELF-MOTIVATED: I have what some Americans call a “Midwest Work Ethic”- I truly enjoy working. I am from a family of self-starters and I find satisfaction in taking on a challenge of the mind. I will focus my attention on the sole job at hand, working through to the complete satisfaction of both parties.
