Developer backed out of the project. He claimed it was too difficult but has proven to be unresponsive and unable to even start the work.
I was met with plenty of excuses like, "I can only work if I have access to the live database", or "I can't work while other developers are working", or "the code is changing too much"... The list goes on.
I was plenty forgiving. I gave him a week. He failed, I gave him another week. He failed again, and finally he's backing out.
Things I'd change in the future would be:
1. Developer must understand the project platform (in this case, his questions indicated that he didn't know how to use or setup wordpress)
2. Developer must understand basic versioning (in this case, he didn't understand version control, more specifically Github)
3. Developer must understand how to setup a basic mamp environment (in this case, the developer was unable to create a local instance and demanded to work off the live version)
Akin was AMAZING! He went well above and beyond to see that my project was completed just the way I needed. I would recommend him to anyone and I will definitely be working with him again in the near future.Again, OUTSTANDING job and thank you!
Worked fast to complete function - however refused to explain how it worked (so that I could make sure future programming and editing of the shopping cart wouldn't affect it's function). They then demanded more money, and then later talked about black mail.Rated 5 as the function works.
