I find it hard to know how to rate Sathish. On the one hand he was patient, very persistent, and very keen to complete the project whatever was required. He was always quick to respond. He was also willing to work with me on some of my ideas about how to implement some of the functionality. I believe him to also be very capable - my project included quite a few tables of data, some fairly complex formulas, and a VBA user form. On the other hand, getting the work done correctly was a persistent problem. I gave him a detailed scope document (6 pages, complete with screenshots with things circled etc). I also partially built the Excel file and added lots of comments within the file. Despite this each version that was sent through had most functionality either incomplete/buggy, or missing altogether. This cost quite a bit of my time in testing and providing feedback. My initial feedback was again detailed (with about 18 items listed) yet the next version only had one (trivial) item fixed. I believe this to be a problem with understanding and attention to detail (as Sathish showed himself to be very technically capable). Perhaps on simpler projects Sathish would excel, but mine was complex project.
