Swanee Ballman began her career as a high school English teacher in Pennsylvania and then Maryland. In the mid-80s, she was employed by an educational textbook company to promote the writing process in Florida schools. In 1993 she served as volunteer advisor for the St. Cloud High School student-generated newspaper.
In 1994 her first children's titles were published by Concordia Publishing House (St. Louis). In 1999 her adult novel, TAMARIND, was published by Legacy Publishing and carried in bookstores nationwide. In 2000 she established Jawbone Publishing Corporation and has edited and/or published over 150 titles for both fiction and non-fiction authors since the company's inception.
TAMARIND has been converted to a screenplay and is listed on [login to view URL] with a potential filming date of 2009.
She is presently ghostwriting two biographical books and writing her third full-length screenplay.
